The facility is an educational facility that effortlessly blends learning in a fun environment. The most exciting bit about this destination is that it offers a number of interactive exhibitions that visitors can engage in. This is indeed the perfect place to introduce your little ones to the fundamentals of science in a laid-back setting where external pressure to learn and adapt is not existent.
There are permanent exhibitions on location where a number of experiments are conducted to show the co-existence between life and science. Raging from experiments that illustrate the concept of time, to those that show the importance of space and to a host of body experimental activities, these exhibitions are excellent for the older kids. Adults have fun at the optical illusions corner where images come alive in a surreal manner, so make sure to carry your camera.
In addition to the permanent exhibitions at Sciencentre, there are also other seasonal exhibitions held throughout the year. The latter are held at a specific zone of the facility, and often revolve around a select theme. For instance, such seasonal shows may include an exhibition which highlights the importance of search and rescue, or one which raises awareness for the need to conserve the environment.
The Science Theatre Shows are also worth checking out as they are ideal for the kids and families. Other things to do include enjoying science lectures and talks for visitors who would like to learn in a more formal setup and fun at the Body Zone where you get to learn more about your body and how it functions.
Depending on your time of visit, look out for the Measure Island slated for between 26th March2016 and 5th February 2017. On this island, you will discover all that you need to know about taking measurements. Have fun too while at it – take a guess of how fast your throw is, how long a crocodile is and even how fast your heart beats when you are exposed to a life threatening condition. In addition, the show seeks to find out how measurements and aspects of the same affect daily life.
One of the most integral facilities at Sciencentre is the accessibility to virtually every part of the center. This means that wheelchair users can access and be part of the exhibitions and shows. There is accessible parking available too. The disabled washroom facilities are available on Levels 0 to 2. The Visitor Services on Level 2 give wheelchairs for free to use within the museum. Other facilities include adaptive technology for the handicapped and public payphones.
